Austin has a special place in my heart. Arriving in the capital of Texas was a refreshing experience after being raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. I came to Austin with a level of social anxiety being the only Asian-American person throughout my K-12 public education. As a college freshman in a city where I didn't know a single person, it was a liberating and frightening period. This gave me the opportunity to reinvent myself as the person I want to become.
