Pop-Up Viewing Party
Personal Project
Volunteer Park
Seattle, WA
In anticipation of the 2017 solar eclipse, this pop-up public art project consisted of  four viewers ranging in size from 2 feet to 12 feet in length were constructed. Each offering a different size representation of the moon passing in front of the sun. Originally sited for the park across the street from my home, the early morning clouds obstructed our view. A last minute decision was made to pack up the car with the family and the viewers to drive as far south as possible. Luckily there was no morning traffic to impede our route and we ended up in Volunteer Park. Folks were invited to interact with the viewers for this auspicious event.
